Over a year has passed since last year's Yamada Tarou Monogatari (TBS), so Ryuusei no Kizuna (TBS; Starts 10/17 (Friday) 10PM) has an incredibly fresh feeling. Toda Erika-san who plays my younger sister has had a series of drama roles, and Nishikido Ryo-kun who plays my younger brother has also in that period done nothing but (weekly dramas), so among the siblings I think I'm the one who is most separated from the feeling. In those circumstances, I though I had better work so as not to hold them back. For the time being, I'm set up as the "dependable eldest son," so if I don't do it properly I'll cause those two worry over the next three months. When I did Yamada Tarou~, my younger siblings and I got very attached [1], but this time the age-group is different (smile).

Before I read the original work, I read Kudou Kankurou-san's script, but I thought, "This must definitely be different from the original." Kudou-san said, "I wrote it faithfully to the original," but I really felt "young". There are also a lot of comical scenes, and there's also enjoyment in seeing how we'll go on to put together the transitions with the serious scenes on set. Although I've somehow had a good response at this stage.

Actually, me not reading the original work was also Nishikido-kun's fault. Because it had been decided we'd be acting together, we went out to eat, but there he suddenly revealed who did it. Normally, with such a core part wouldn't you talk about it after verifying the person had read it? Thanks to that, my motivation to read it fell very low.

I've also acted together with my seniors from the company, but in my case I was saved 100% by my seniors, and with that it was a feeling that I had finally come into my own. But, Nishikido-kun has already been able to do plenty on his own, so I think I'll have to think carefully about the "meaning" of Nishikido-kun acting together with me, his senior.

I kind of laughed too much over 'Nishikido-kun' giving away such a big part of the story-line and ruining it for Nino. =D I'm at maximum excitement for this drama now, thanks for the translation!

I've always liked Ryo as an actor. He's deep.
And Nino's one of my favorite actors (reason why I got to liking Arashi in the first place) so this was a doublewhammy for me. XDD

Nino, the senpai. *shakes head* I still can't get used to it. haha!

I think I've only seen him in Last Fiends... But heaven knows I am *certainly* familiar enough with Nino's filography... It is pretty weird to think of him as a sempai, though. I thought, "If he went to eat with Ryo, does that mean he paid??" The mind boggles.

Thanks so much. I can't imagine him being a sempai. It's already hard imagining him as an older brother. I just about fell on the floor when hearing about Ryo revealing the ending.

Ryo killing the suspense XD *pats Nino*. And about Nino being the older brother, putting aside his stinginess and the other outward nature he shows on tv, I can totally portray him as Kouichi. Lol, it's probably because: one, Kouichi is an easily-distinguished character: cool, aloof, calm, composed, intelligent, and dependable, the very characteristics of a brother. Neither Taisuke nor Shizuna possesses such characters; two, physique doesn't concern me; three, we know that Nino is actually an insightful introspective mature little devil. XDDD
